FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Washington, DC - The staff of Clean Water Action has received voluntary recognition for the Clean Water Guild as a national bargaining unit, entering into a tripartite agreement with Clean Water Action, the Minnesota Newspaper and Communications Guild Local 37002, and the Pacific Media Workers Guild Local 39521, TNG-CWA.
Clean Water Action and the Guild, demonstrating unity and mutual respect, came together to reach an agreement in less than a week.
“We respect our employees' right to collectively bargain and engage in this process. We view this as an opportunity for dialogue and continued growth,” said Lynn Thorp, President of Clean Water Action.
Mac Glackin, Administrative and Program Coordinator with Clean Water Action and one of the original staff members who started organizing for a nationwide union, shared, “We must remind ourselves regularly that all great things immense and long-standing were built by the many and never a sole pair of hands. Clean Water Action has heard the unionized voices of its fellows and answered with strength and bravery. This is a future we build with each other – with our own hands.”
Clean Water Action is committed to working with the Guild in good faith to strengthen the organization, support staff, and continue advancing our shared mission with unity, integrity, and purpose.
Members of the Guild are excited to collaborate with Clean Water Action to create a nationwide contract that will make the organization as a whole stronger.
